Where to eat
Café des Épices: overlooking the Derb Rahba Lakdima (the so called “Spice Square”), one of the most beautiful squares of the Medina. Ideal for lunch break or afternoon snack. Go to the terrace and take a seat near the ledge to watch people swarm in the square below.
Nomad: on the opposite side of the Café des Épices. Its terraces are among the highest in the Medina and allow a 360 degrees view of the entire old city. Perfect for lunch, aperitif or dinner. Revisited Moroccan cuisine with many options for vegetarians too.
Terrasse des Épices: located at the entrance to the souks from the antique dealers area of Dar El Bacha. Moroccan and western dishes. The atmosphere on the terrace at night is special, with soft lighting, straw lamps and background music.
Le Jardin: a small green oasis in the Medina. Eat under the shade of plants at lunch, and by candlelight at dinner. Moroccan cuisine revisited in a chic atmosphere.
La Maison Arabe: one of Marrakech classics. Elegant but cozy place. French, Moroccan or Asian dishes served indoors or in the central patio by the pool.
Souk Café: traditional Moroccan food, good-quality couscous and tajines for honest prices. In the evening, live “gnawa” music is often played in the terrace.
